Are You Using Video Conferencing? A New Way of Communication?

Many business people throughout the word are looking at saving costs. Traveling expenses alone are costing companies thousands and in some cases millions of dollars resulting in massive cutbacks and lay offs. Business people are looking for answers, ways to cut costs and at the same time maximize their profits. Let's look at how video conferencing can help.

Just think of the money a business man or an individual can save on a regular basis with video conferencing. Just think of the money you can save on flights across the country and around the world or the cost of staying in hotels. Think of the cost you could save on attending and holding conventions. What about the cost of rental cars, gas and the travelling expenses paid to employees.

With video conferencing you can save on those costs dramatically. You can save on your flights, travel expenses, saved man hours and bring your cost down within a few weeks. It is not only about saving money but being able to meet regularly and effectively which could have a massive effectiveness on your company

Just imagine sitting in your boardroom, your office or at home video conferencing with twenty, thirty or even a hundred employees sharing ideas and information. Imagine having your own virtual office where you can video conference, text chat, share files, download files, do desk top sharing with employees directly from your office or home. What a huge advantage that would be for your business.

Many MLM companies are using conference rooms and webinars to communicate with their clients. There are a lot of companies that are still using the old method where the clients can call into a telephone conference but they are limited to what they can say and usually the is muted and you listen to moderator. With your virtual office or video conferencing room you can work together in a group. Everyone can text chat ask questions and share ideas like one big family controlled by one or more moderators.

Who can use video conferencing? Large Companies with a large number of employees spread across North America and throughout the world. Small and Medium sized firms that realize the benefits. Firms that need the facility to conference with clients. Schools, Universities and Training Institutions Court Rooms. Prisons and the Legal System, governments, health care systems, and even families needing to bring themselves back together over distance. Example: Communicating with a love one overseas or a son or daughter in the military.

Conferencing online is becoming one of the most important ways to market online and is a very effective way to save costs, transfer files, share information and ideas and communicating with love ones. It is also an affordable way of communicating.

Thank you for viewing my article. I enjoy sharing information and ideas with others.

10 Things I Hate About Video Web Conferencing

It's difficult for business to survive during these tough economic times. So if you're looking for ways to keep your competitive edge...

Watch out for these 10 things I Hate About Video Web Conferencing:

1) I live in Wisconsin and winters here are brutal. I like going on business trips to sunny California to get out of the frozen tundra! So meeting online makes my winter, warm business trip less likely.

2) Sometimes I would rather skip being "seen" on camera...especially when I'm working from home taking care of my sick child. Video web conferences makes face time easy - anywhere - any time.

3) Less business expenses to write off for taxes. Web conferencing slashes 68% or more off of business costs such as teleconference fees, long distance & international calling fees, courier fees, gas & insurance costs every year.

4) I'll have to deal with more customers, suppliers, and remote co-workers on a daily basis because it's easier to communicate better and more often online.

5) Possibility of being bumped up into a higher tax bracket because online sales presentations makes it easier and less expensive for you to double or even triple your revenue.

6) More time to sit in marketing plan meetings to grow your business since more routine business will be efficiently handled online.

7) More training sessions since it costs less to provide your sales reps timely, state-of-the-art, online training on demand. Web conferencing significantly lowers your training costs.

8) More meetings in general. Because online meetings are so economical, you can include key decision makers or employees - even if they're located across the globe - to get your business done.

9) Less exercise! Because you won't have to walk (or drive) to another building for a meeting, you'll have better use of your time during the day.

10) It costs money! There's no doubt that video conferencing reduces carbon emissions, is good for the environment, and is good for your bottom line...but it's not free forever!

Flip Your Expertise

It seems that it is all the rage - putting video into your web pages, uploading information to YouTube and even posting video to Facebook. The posting is not the problem. The greatest fear for most people is putting up something that others will be excited to view and then SHARE it with everyone they know.

Good video is not just luck. Good video is carefully planned and well executed. This does not mean you need to be a professional to carry off the task. It means you have to put thought into your video. I could not imagine giving a presentation without knowing what I was going to speak about. I prepare slide decks and practice long before the presentation date. The same needs to be true for your videos.

So let's look at the the 6 top items for creating an excellent video that will draw in your target market.

1. Decide on the message you want to have others read or see. The message could be a benefit, a feature, or simply something that is of interest to others.

2. Prepare a presentation using a tool such as PowerPoint. For a three minute video, the recommended number of slides (so you don't run out of words) is ten. Use the first few slides to put in your title, your credentials (if you want these), and who you are plus what you are presenting. This gives a good introduction into your topic (whether it is serious or silly - this will always work).

The next slides will describe your video outline - and put it into a meaningful sequence for the audience. In other words, it should be logical.

The final slide will be the closing with action items (if you need them). Make a great conclusion or Ta-Da then ask the audience to follow up with you in some manner. I am making the assumption that fame, and potential fortune is the goal!

3. Get a video camera (built in from your computer, a stand-alone such as a FLIP, or a movable webcam).

4. Position the camera so that the background makes sense, don't have your dirty laundry in a pile at the back of the video - double check before you begin.

5. Practice what you want to convey and then practice again. There is nothing worse than stumbling around. If you make a mistake, start over. Remember you are not making a feature film, you are making a 3 minute or less clip.

6. Keep your messages short and to the point - tell stories and share what you know.

Relax and have fun - this is your chance to show your expertise. Enjoy the limelight!

Conference Calling Companies

What is a conference Call?

A conference call is a telephone call where the one party initiates another call which allows a called party to either listen in on the call or to speak. Another phase which is often used in conference calling is "Three-way calling". Specific equipment which allows this call to work can sometimes be employed, although your local telephone company can simply provide this service to your telephone line.

Many small businesses which are based at home use three-way calling, which is provided at an extra charge, to speak with many of their customers and consultants. In many cases this technology allows for problem solving without wasting too much time in back and forth calling.

There are many players in this market which has brought the technology to a place which allows a person in Australia to speak with and see someone in the USA and China without traveling around the world to attend a business meeting. With recent developments, it is now a normal practice to have not only conference calls, but also have those calls recorded and played back.

Many of the new services also include live call screen, which is ideal for moderation; pre-conference/green room facility which allows persons attending the conference call to have private conversations before starting the conference and lecture mode which allows for the muting of all participants. Web conferencing can also be performed on these calls which allow participants to share PowerPoint Presentations, text chat or host a poll.

There is a very special feature of Conference Calling which I find quite interesting; International call out and blast dial which invites callers all over the world to join in a live call. This is truly a money saving feature.

Choosing a Conference Calling Provider

When choosing a Conference Calling Provider, there are a number of questions which you will need to look ask.

(1) Can your provider service any type of call?
(2) Is the line capable of handing the volume of calls based on the type of conference call you want to make. e.g. world wide?
(3) Are there any hidden fees for this service?
(4) What are the guarantees that you will have good service?
(5) Is your system voice over internet protocol (VOIP)?
(6) Does your company provide DTMF clamping?

There are obviously other questions which you will need to ask before choosing a provider since there are several providers in this arena and you will ask the questions to suit your particular requirements.

Conference calling companies can save you mega dollars in travel around the world, therefore when you choose a company, ensure that you have the facilities you require to make your online meetings beneficial to your company.
